Vipers’ Nigerian forward Abubakar Lawal is dead
Uganda Premier League side Vipers SC forward Abubakar Lawal has died. He was 29 years old. Police preliminary investigations indicate that Lawal, fell from the third floor of Voice Mall Shopping Arcade on February 24, 2025.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Lawal had arrived at the mall to meet his friend, Omary Naima, a Tanzanian national. Naima, who was in a relationship with the deceased, reported that she left Lawal in the room preparing tea and went to a game centre within the mall.
