Opposition cautioned against exposing their weaknesses
The president of Uganda People’s Congress-(UPC), Mr Jimmy Akena has advised opposition political parties to stop exposing their weaknesses to the media and instead strengthen internal conflict resolution mechanisms.
He made the remarks while addressing journalists at the party headquarters in Kampala, about the party developments after winning the Dokolo Woman MP by-election.
According to Akena, what is happening in the opposition is disappointing to Ugandans, especially those who have been waiting for a transition.
He added that the situation in the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and the National Unity Platform (NUP) needs an urgent address to enable them stay focused on the transition struggle ahead of the 2026 general elections.
“I do not rejoice when I see wrangles in any political party. I honestly feel that political parties should be able to deliver and must work to be organized,” said Akena.
